Will river sand do well in a planted tank? I would think that river sand would be a very good substrate as it would contain all the natural nutrients that a plant might need. It would be cheaper as well and one can get it from any builders store as it is used by builders to make mortar for bricklaying. I also love the idea that it's very natural.
